I think GP is referring to the fact that a public ledger is not rocket science to sift through and trace to a single individual. Especially when Coinbase & Co. require US citizens to provide their SSN so IRS can keep track easily. Just because it's not worth tracing yet, doesn't mean it is not coming. The authors should be required to post their code on github or another public way of sharing their algorithms. I've seen other students at my school's AI research purposely implement other author's algorithms in a sub-optimal way to show that their research yielded better results. It's sad.
