Comment Emporer's clothes (Score -1) 180

No wonder SAP has such a bad reputation. If it's overly complex then it will lead to problems. Systems need to be made up of blocks which *can* be understood by one person. And these blocks are then put together to build bigger systems. It's the whole procipal of small, perfect tools which unix is built on. Once you built a perfect unit you treat it as a black box and use it as a tool. i.e if I'm steering a cruise liner I just want to turn the wheel - I shouldn't have to think about operating every relay, pump, generator, control panel etc between me and the rudder. If the central data set is not understandable then it has been designed incorrectly. Unless you want to believe the salesman that everyone else uses it and you must be too dumb to understand. Sometimes I think that the Emporer's clothes should be required reading in the first week of all computer courses.

And if there a multi-verse then in these billions of universes intelligent life would have created virtual worlds just like we're doing.
And they are going to get very 'realistic' - imagine how good the Sims will be in 10,000 years time. The beings in it will not know they are in a universe created for them.
So - an almost infinite number of universes - many of which contain trillions of virtual worlds. This would mean that the odds are that we're in one of these 'games'.
Therefore science has proved that our universe does have a creator somewhere.
Phew! It's a relief that the whole science vs religeon thing is done with!

Comment This makes the next choice of car easier (Score -1) 594

This makes the next choice of car easier. Last time I asked my Dad (retired) to research a new car for us. The only specs I laid down were: Estate (shooting brake) Air-con. This will be changed to: Estate (shooting brake) Air-con. Not a Toyota or Lexus. When will these companies learn to muzzle their stupid lawyers?
