Drill from Marinara trench? (Score 1)

I suppose if they started to drill within the Mariana trench http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mariana_Trench/, they'd be starting out 11km below sea level *already*. Perhaps, at that level, one could drill horizontally to reach the mantle. But... the sea pressure!
