I got a Sony vaio PCG-C1VE running with some microsoft muck, and redhat 7.0 under a 2.4.2 kernel, virtually everything working, or solutions for problems available (I'm too lazy to fix stuff). Got some help from a dude called Steve Barr - www.stevebarr.com - which filled in the blanks. Machine runs ever so sweetly under the new kernel with the right patches. Linux is slowly taking over all my machines at home, and sneaking into my place of work..... Linux rocks... End of Story
