It's important to note that these aren't the opinions of the magazine or its editors. The list comes from folks who work in IT, mostly technology resellers, who are out in the field selling, installing and maintaining this stuff. If there were ever canaries in the tech coal mine, they'd be these service and solution providers who live and die by the slightest shift in the markets. Some of the companies on this list, like Sun and AMD, are shocking because of their size. Others, like CA and Symantec, not so surprising." What other companies are headed for implosion, or should be if all were right with the universe?

Probably the most underrated ergonomic mouse in my opinion. Inexpensive, reasonably sturdy, large trackball, can be used with both hands. I have tried quite a few of the mice mentioned there, but nothing comes close to the comfort and accuracy of this. Also I find that my control is better when I manipulate the trackball with my index and middle finger rather than my thumb.

An anonymous reader writes "A nice little old lady I know has had her number spoofed by some car warranty scammers. They're calling hundreds of potential victims per day pretending to use her phone number, and the angry ones call her back; some of them have even left death threats. She's terrified. Some well-intending anti-telemarketing folks have posted her address on the 'net as well. How can we figure out where these scammer bastards are, and what's the state of the current legislation to prevent caller ID spoofing? I called the FBI in Boston (near where she lives) and they said they can't help. She's called her phone company, but they said they can't help either. She's had the same number for over 50 years and doesn't want to change it." If the Feds can't or won't handle it, what's the best approach here?

I don't think there is any value in deletionpedia or any similar repository. Just because you/anybody else/I have something to say does not make it relevant or useful. There is certainly an argument to be made regarding the meaningfulness of that statement when applied to a 'crowd-sourced' and moderated compendium of information. However I am far more comfortable with the idea of a for-the-most-part-ok yet flawed system rather than allow every idiot a soapbox. The latter seems to affect MSM in this country quite a bit and we all know how that is going.
