A long story, but in the end the natives lose their land while the refugees pull out all the plugs and plunder the land, which they eventually end up calling "The United States of America". A lot of the natives were victims of biological weapons, but let's forget that. We all know how US likes a big full stop. Just ask the Japanese.

That sounds similar to some of the people in history. Germans, Russians or any other evil empire.

What I always admired about America is its talent for propaganda and hypocrisy.

And oh, about nuclear weapons. There are good men, evil men and incompetent men. In a world where America is the Big Brother, only the last category of people don't bother with nuclear weapons.

Let's just lay out the facts, shall we? The ones who make it a big issue are:
1. The secondaries who hang on to the alpha male (or a long-dead alpha male's image) and want to gain attention.
2. The alphas who are just pretending to be alphas and feel threatened.
3. The ones who have a genuine reason to be offended.
That apart, there is a rule that states that if you have to plead freedom of expression to defend yourself, then you have said something offensive.
Nobody sympathises with a bully's victim, but they close ranks when the bully is threatened. Nobody is offended by the actions of the Brave new World, but everybody picks on the Big Brother.
So, to sum up, society is complicated.

Some geniuses like Ramanujam may have felt stifled by the requirement to pass the 'other subjects', but I think most geniuses in good old times memorised rhymes like every other schoolboy. America is the most prosperous, most powerful country in the world. It is not facing down an existential threat. It can afford to gamble its future on the hope that given the right environment, the kids will find their natural inclination. Americans are being taught to look through things, before they start looking at things. THIS is the problem. This STEM nonsense might be the one that brings down the Western Civilization. It sure as a hell brought down barbarian hell on the medieval Indians' heads. A country facing an existential threat and still only members of the 'martial classes' can fight? Argue all you want, coders or even rocket scientists are not the future. Edison is not the one who heralded the technological revolution. Linus Torvalds or Sergey Brin is not the next James Clerk Maxwell. Stop preparing kids for the 'gifted programme' and let things happen. A Heisenberg didn't discover quantum mechanics because he wanted a challenge or a tenure. He did it because it was what he did.

In that case, I think Iraq was invaded because George Bush is the avatar of Lord Vishnu and wanted to restore the balance in favour of Good.

Random Civilians? Really? So how did a million civilians die in Iraq? Do you recall the rogue soldiers that went hunting in Afghanistan and took photos with dead bodies? Maniacs are everywhere. Oil wanted America to invade Iraq. Not God. You are right. People think America is a nice isolationist power. What they fail to realize is that it is a country run by its Corporations who will stop at nothing to meet their sales targets. But America is free? They wiped out the natives, and started on a clean state. A nice example that Hitler, Mao, Stalin emulated.
