Shithead executive in the US decides that the fastest way to save money is outsource within one month (greed). Hires or designates a bigger shithead to start the outsourcing process quickly.

Bigger shithead decides he needs to outsource 400+ jobs to India. Bigger shithead conducts a few interviews in India and hires clueless shithead to get it all together in a month.

Clueless shithead hires more shitheads who in turn hire more shitheads. So one month later you have 400 clueless employees who don't have skill sets which match the job.

4 months later all shitheads realise that the shit has hit the fan and they are suddenly way behind schedule.

Then people complain about the quality of work from India. Hell, you hire the wrong people, you wont get quality anywhere.

Comment What about my freedom? (Score 1) 179

which I will loose once a terrorist uses my open wifi to send a terror email.

Take the case of an American citizen Ken Haywood who literally high tailed it out of India with just his family and a few personal possessions when the police discovered that his ISP connection was used to send a terror email related to the recent bomb blasts here. It was later determined that his open wifi connection was used for this purpose. But he suffered nonetheless, he was questioned, had to undergo a lie detector test etc... He got away lightly because he was an American.

Indian citizens would be immediately arrested for the same mistake.

I believe in sharing and freedom of speech. However, when my own freedom is threatened because of an insecure network, I am not going to wait for the government to pass a law to start using WPA2.

People who dont understand this have not experienced Indian police stations.

Oregon Senate Candidate Steve Novick Answers Your Questions 393

Wow. More politicians (of all parties) need to be as open and thorough as Steve Novick is here. We selected 10 of the questions you submitted and sent them to him by email, and his responses... let's just say that if every candidate spoke out like Steve, we'd have a much clearer view of our choices and would be able to cast our votes a lot more rationally.

The Death of the Silicon Computer Chip 150

Stony Stevenson sends a report from the Institute of Physics' Condensed Matter and Material Physics conference, where researchers predicted that the reign of the silicon chip is nearly over. Nanotubes and superconductors are leading candidates for a replacement; they don't mention graphene. "...the conventional silicon chip has no longer than four years left to run... [R]esearchers speculate that the silicon chip will be unable to sustain the same pace of increase in computing power and speed as it has in previous years. Just as Gordon Moore predicted in 2005, physical limitations of the miniaturized electronic devices of today will eventually lead to silicon chips that are saturated with transistors and incapable of holding any more digital information. The challenge now lies in finding alternative components that may pave the way to faster, more powerful computers of the future"

MacBook Air First To Be Compromised In Hacking Contest 493

Multiple readers have written to let us know that the MacBook Air was the first laptop to fall in the CanSecWest hacking contest. The successful hijacking took place only two minutes into the second day of the competition, after the rules had been relaxed to allow the visiting of websites and opening of emails. The TippingPoint blog reveals that the vulnerability was located within Safari, but they won't release specific details until Apple has had a chance to correct the problem. The winner, Charlie Miller, gets to keep the laptop and $10,000. We covered the contest last year, and the results were similar.

South Park To Be Available Online Free and Legal 277

garnetlion writes "South Park is coming online, free and legal. My brief research has not indicated if it will use DRM, require some silly Windows-only software or be otherwise substandard. According to a Wired blog article, 'Parker and Stone said they were inspired to start the site when they got 'really sick of having to download our own show illegally all the time. So we gave ourselves a legal alternative.'" In this regard South Park joins fellow Comedy Central notable The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, whose archive was made freely available online late last year.
