I did, but that's because I've been a geek all my life but I have plenty of friends that did not. And if you notice, this book is targeting middle school girls. That the time where girls choose, in a real sense, whether to care about math. So, she wrote the book in a style for middle school girls and if they make it out of puberty with a little more math knowledge, they might make different choices.
