I haven't tried it myself, but what about virtualization? VirtualBox has an addition that lets you run windows at any size you want (in windowed mode).

I don't think that people with advance knowledge of the matter will learn anything new and the story takes some liberties with historical accuracy. However is an excellent introduction to complex concepts, not only explaining them with great style but also presenting the historical context and the personal lives of the mathematicians and philosophers who laid the foundations of logic.

The text of the directive is available (External links in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Directive_2006/24/EC) for everyone to draw his own conclusions. For the most part I find it pretty reasonable. ISPs and telcos probably already store this type of information for their own purposes. It also limits the detention period (at least six months, less than two years).
