Having lived in the post-communist world for most of my life, it definitely helps, especially listening to one's elders. However modern propaganda is incredibly powerful and very few individuals can honestly claim to be inoculated to its effects. Even those alternative media companies that have sprouted up in recent years are nothing but a reaction to what amounts to emotionally driven pseudo-events, created and curated to control the hearts and minds of those who partake in news-based entertainment. One of my former favorite podcasts, The Skeptics Guide to the Universe, used to be pretty good at "pre-bunking" news-based entertainment. However, since the tenure of a certain popular celebrity as POTUS, even they have given in to some degree to the Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt so forcefully placed upon us. They want our souls. Perhaps it is best to not hand it over! The most powerful word in this day and age is "why."

So the guy I hire to take care of my lawn is going to have to pay off his Cybertruck rather than a Nissan Frontier or a Ford Maverick, to replace his aging whatever-it-is. I'm going to predict that we'll see a lot more older vehicles with owners trying their best to skimp on smog tests (or even fake the test results somehow) in the future.

This looks like it plays more on American stereotypes than solving a real problem. When it's midnight and my cellular service stops working, I call my service provider's tech support number. Everyone in my timezone is (thankfully) asleep, so of course it gets routed to some international, out-sourcing partner. I get some Indian lady on the line. That makes sense. But the problem isn't her accent. It is the fact she cannot understand me and has a lot of trouble communicating what needs to happen to get my problem resolved. But I guess it is easier to make someone sound "white" rather than "brown?"
