Journal Journal: Stop the CRIA 1

I have, with a friend, purchased http://www.stopthecria.ca/ for the purpose of raising funds to help web sites that are involved in legal battles with the CRIA. We have done this in response to Demonoid.com being forced to stop serving their pages to Canadian IP Addresses. Anyone with an interest in supporting such a fund is encouraged to send an e-mail to admin@stopthecria.ca. The web site is still under development, but will be up soon. We hope to have it completed by the end of the week.

Journal Journal: Exciting

Well, last weekend my friends and I configured a Windows 2003 Enterprise server. Hopefully within a month or so we'll actually be able to make use out of it. The plan is to start hosting small web sites until we can generate enough revenue to purchase more bandwidth, more equipment, and more software. We're hoping to have a Linux server or three as well (you can never have too many linux servers!). With time, we should be able to make a viable business out of this. It's incredible how much tech work you can get done when your brain is operating on a different level than it would during the week. Hurray for paper!
