I would have read this article if you had left some room open for the lead-programmer to be a woman.
I understand that most people here will think I'm overreacting. We all know that it's easier to wrtie "he" than "he or she" and that if you're going to pick one gender, the most commonly picked is the male. (Quite frankly, in this line of work, you're probably right to pick "he.") If you pick the female, you're making a statement rather than just avoiding the lengthy and cumbersome "he or she." But seriously, there is so much discrimination against women in the programming world that we need to be helping women to imagine that they might be the lead-programmer rather than assuming the lead-programmer is a man.
If you were programming, you would be more specific about the possible values for a given variable.
