I have exactly ONE Windows machine, for exactly ONE application - remote access for work. There's no technical reason this couldn't be done with Linux (it's done through a browser) but TPTB have declared Linux to be a "security risk" and configured the remote access appliance to blacklist Linux hosts. (But they're perfectly fine with ChromeOS.) So one Win10 machine until EOL (or until I'm told Win 10 is no longer acceptable). Back in the day I ran WinXP in a VM and remote access worked fine from there, go figure. Apart from that, I'm all Linux all the time at home. I get quite enough of Win10 Enterprise all day at work.

More of Mr. Doctorow's relentless self-promotion. Hey, who else remembers when he made *all* of his books available on his website? That apparently ended a couple books back, and when questioned repeatedly, he could only come up with the lame excuse "my publisher won't let me"...never mind that he used to make a big deal about how he (and, I assume, his agent) insisted on releasing his work under a CC license. Last I looked, the free versions of his earlier work were still available on his site, but you really had to go digging to find the download page, all the while being bombarded with for-pay links.
