This is nothing new Meshtastic is open source, but the logo and name is trademarked. It's probably not a bad tatic in this day and age of Chinese companies finding an open source product of interest, cloning it and cranking out devices by the millions with no credit given to the original creator.

At some point companies have to replace the hardware they are currently using either due to more power efficient hardware coming out, failures of existing hardware, and the fact they can't write off the depreciation of the hardware any more. And that's exactly where one makes the decision of staying with the status quo or examining other options on the market.

My guess is you could migrate these existing x86 VMs over to whatever hypervisor they have on the manframes emulating x86 which would probably be significantly inefficient in performance and power use. It would probably be like dropping a 1990's honda civic engine into a F350 truck. Yes you could probably make it work, but it would absolutely suck.

Perhaps we should put the brakes on AI till we figure out as a society what to do with those jobs that are going to be displaced by it. AI has the ability to pretty much eliminate all knowledge worker jobs and can probably also eliminate blue collar physical labor laws once it's integrated into a viable humanoid robot.

If 5% of gamer bros are using Linux, the uptake is probably even higher outside of the gamer bro community.

That and as scary as it sounds there's probably still critical infrastructure out there running on it. Likely would be a national security nightmare to release it so someone could run an AI though it and find every possible vulnerability

Anyone who uses vim on the regular is a masochist. Yes it's good to have some basic knowledge of it since it is the one and only editor that is guaranteed to be on a *nix system and may be all you can use if the system is in a seriously fucked state. But any other reason there a fuck ton of other editors, most already installed in most distros by default these days that are miles saner to use on the regular.

At best maybe these electronic payment platforms will standardize on a method of interoperability between their platforms like we have with the different credit and debit cards all working on the same payment terminal.

I'd call Win10/11 and Linux at least Mint on a level ground as far as minor issues. I tolerated Win10, When I saw and used Win11 I was done. Win7 was the last Windows that Microsoft got right. They should go back to that code base and try again.

I suspect not. I was a die hard windows user up till about a year ago. Win 10/11 killed windows for me too much bloat, ads, and AI being rammed down our throats. I switched to Linux Mint and haven't looked back.
