It is sometimes excellent for non-English. Google Translate/Search have difficulties finding Danish words for technical concepts like 'tissue culture'. ChatGPT can provide the right answer. Watch a German video with slang and find your skills outdated. Google might help, but all the relevant results are probably in German. ChatGBT can explain in whatever language you prefer. It may also help with the research of lesser historical events. Something that happened in your life, you remember but not exactly when. Example: 'When was the one-litre soda glass bottle phased out in Denmark' or 'When did this smaller company change its logo.' Google usually struggle here.

Just because your Windows 11 is updated does not mean it is safe. Your behaviour helps a lot. Put your computer behind a router. Back up your data frequently. Restrict write access on your LAN. Don't use the outdated computer for online banking. Only visit websites you know and trust. Don't run suspect executables like cracks etc. Worst case, you need to reinstall and restore your data.

This is amazing. Ask it to compare two things. Then ask it to add slight bias, heavy bias and outright lie. Write a review for a book, game, etc. Ask it to explain a joke or poem. Sometimes it gets the answer perfectly right. Don't worry about minor spelling errors, it will figure it out. And while all this is sensational, the best is yet to come: It understands and writes languages other than English. Ask a question in German or Danish, and you get a reply in those languages. The Danish replies are not broken at all; while not perfect, they are still better than a standard Danish newspaper. Sure, you can ask the bot to translate something to another language, and unlike G translate, it seems to make sense. So, you don't understand the poem after the bot explained it? Ask it to transcribe to contemporary English. Still too complicated? Ask it to transcribe so a 10-year-old can understand it. This technology will kill off customer reviews and all social media. Bots like this will take over.

Chrome Complicates Mozilla/Google Love-In 307

Barence writes "Mozilla CEO John Lilly has admitted the Firefox maker's relationship with Google has become 'more complicated' since the company launched its own browser. Mozilla is dependent on Google for the vast majority of its revenue and has previously worked closely with the search king's engineers on the development of Firefox. But that relationship appears to have cooled since Google released Chrome in the summer. 'We have a fine and reasonable relationship, but I'd be lying if I said that things weren't more complicated than they used to be.'"
