I read some of this, and what I got out of what I did read was something like "everything is a data source," and "we're gonna let you query those guys in fancy ways, possibly with joins involved" and then "you can look at the results...in a UI with, wait for it, a tree view."

I can already go to my relational DB of choice, and query across multiple databases, and pretty much anything that exposes data in a ODBC compliant sort of way, and I can already visualize the resulting data sets in a number of different way, including a visual tree or graph view.

Did I miss something while skimming through those 30-odd pages in 5 minutes?

How about removing the additional $40 billion in subsidies the BIg Beautiful Bill added for the fossil fuel industry over the next 10 years and instead subsiding something more sustainable. Or better yet, remove all current subsidies from the fossil fuel industry, and see where the market goes...The unsubsidized price of gas would make even unsubsidized EV prices make sense.

BEVs are incredibly much less likely to catch fire than ICE vehicles, and there are fewer of them...so I expect Fox opinion shows to be pushing this conspiracy bullshit hard for the foreseeable future. This because they don't care about actual journalism...they're strictly entertainment, and they know their audience.

Base is one such power company. They install a whole home battery backup, then use it to store energy when it's cheap and sell it when it's not. You don't even need to have solar panels, but they can incorporate them into the mix.

This is basically for the folks who don't want to buy 60+ kwh of storage and a fancy hybrid inverter setup and do the same thing on their own.

I've heard it said that all humor is inappropriate. If that's true it would explain South Parks' continued existence, since nothing is off the table for the creators.

So yeah, maybe there is something to be said for just producing movies, shows, and other media without giving a shit if people like it or not.

Oh, so not free, either in terms of money spent or time spent to send that thing off. If you're like most working people, time and money are both at a premium.

It being 2025, I don't have any envelopes, stamps, or buggy whips around my house ready to put into use at a moment's notice. Additionally, anything that requires actual mail typically also requires tracking and/or a signature on receipt so I can prove that it was sent and received...your $0.48 isn't going to cover that, and the time taken out of my day to run down to my local USPS to make that happen.

Going back to paper filing as a default is regressive, and involves more expense, labor, and time on both sides to make it happen.

By ending the Direct File program, the IRS is saying that paper forms are THE standard way to file. If the IRS isn't prepared to process these filings, then perhaps they shouldn't be throwing away the millions spent on a perfectly good, and well-received application that greatly streamlines the filing process for the average filer.

Ending Direct File hurts people who are required by law to file their taxes, but it's also a self-inflicted wound to the IRS, because they're likely to be dealing with more paper filings than the pared down version (versus the previous administration) will be able to process in a timely manner.
