Hmm, if this is the x86 code ( It could be ISC, Linux, or Solaris x86. They would have also had to know something about the license file. As it's doubtful there would have been an install process for this hack. Not a big deal, but one more hurdle to fix You mention no libc dependency, I think only Solaris Sparc had dynamic libraries. I think every other platform was statically bound. Besides, being no POSIX, there wasn't even networking on a lot of hardware the product worked on. We had to build a support doc to make an RS6000 look like it had a network when it didn't because on the workstation platforms they insisted on using FlexLM.
