Comment I had a "mild" case too. (Score 1) 279
My family got Covid in early January of last year after my step-daughter came back from visiting her father in LA. Yes, this was a full two months before Covid was supposed to have reached the US.
For my wife and step-daughter, it wasn't much more than a persistent cough and fatigue. Although my wife also got pinkeye for the first time in her life.
For me, (53-year-old male with Type 2 Diabetes), it was three weeks of low-grade fever, eating maybe once a day, and barely having the strength to walk up the stairs from the main floor to our bedroom. I also had a case of laryngitis that's permanently altered the timbre of my voice.
At the time, I thought I just had a nasty case of the flu. I didn't suspect Covid until months later when I noticed its symptoms so closely matched the ones I had.
The clincher was my wife's pinkeye. Apparently it's possible to contract Covid through the eyes, and pinkeye is one of the symptoms of that. So, that along with how much more severe my case was compared to my wife's and step-daughter's, convinced me.
