However the workers putting up the building opposite you are a) above ground, which presumably makes things a little easier, and b) don't have to avoid disrupting thousands of commuters during construction.
Also, they might be reinforcing or widening the existing tunnel.
The worst thing about London transport is the heat though. It is unbearably hot when it's busy, and it's often crowded enough that there isn't room to remove your coat by the time you realise. Travelling in winter sucks here
