well you get paid upfront so you take the deal i guess. it's less random than getting lost in the kickstarter goldrush. besides i get the impression these stories are created for a market, rather than a creator's passion project.

co-creator, tho moore rarely gives his artist his dues . gibbons created the whole look of the book including the 9 panel layout and several story aspects (the pirate comics instead of superhero comics in their world). in v for vendetta, the character's entire look including the mask was from artist david lloyd's ideas.

i'm using one right now, a toshiba i bought second hand- they have a wacom digitiser built in and i used it to paint in photoshop with full pressure sensitivity. the lcd isn't that great, but i did manage to hackintosh it and get the digitiser working in os x with tablet magic. still going strong tho the keyboard's shot.

in fairness the upgrade to 10.6 was $20
