We just don't FULLY know what already went wrong. Like new crimes by Facebook are being posted each week. I guess other companies have quite some skeletons hidden.
The most scary thing is actually when AI will pwn us -- we wouldn't know. We would be too stupid to even notice...
I generally have only the phone, no cards or cash on me. Since PayWave (a contact-less payment PoS) is supported by next to all terminals I very very rarely run into issues.
From what I know plenty of people do the same -- phone only is enough for pretty much everything.
It's like Harvey Dent -- from one side very good hardware and from the other a blood-sucking patent troll. Some even suggesting to split the company in two.
Assuming one would be paying a market rate of $50+/hr I would seriously weigh in probable wasted on Windows updates/install/cleanups/etc as she would do that in business hours.
I personally would consider a macOS-based laptop just to evade maintenance burden of Windows.
The options could run from leasing one directly from Apple and expensify monthly as a cost of sales or getting a new/refurbished one and depreciate it. After her employment is over you can sell the laptop as an asset (if it's after three years in Australia - it will be written off already).
Hope that helps.
