This is almost definitely true for the private market, the normal run-of-the-mill end-user. But in business, not so. If a lot of companies jump on the StarOffice bandwagon now - and they might - they will be pretty much stuck with it if Sun at some point in the not-too-distant future suddenly decides to charge near-Microsoft rates for StarOffice.
