after5's Journal: Leaving on a chunnel train

while i am waiting for my laundry to finish i figured i'd stop by and get some email sent out. my laptop has decided to go completely whacko on this trip. my floppy drive has stopped working reliably now...i am definitely going to have this thing worked on when i get back to the states.

We leave for the UK tomorrow morning, and i have been challenged...we are adding three passengers to an already full bus. This means that i have to be a miracle worker to not only free up three seats (some are taken up by excess luggage) but also find room for at least six more bags. lucky lucky me

Paris has been okay, today was a logistical disaster. our coordinator completely neglected travel times with traffic and forgot to include stops for meals...this is her second time doing this (the forgetting part).

We visited versailles and chadres cathedrals, which means nothing to you guys but i felt i had to include that info.

laundry beckons, i won't have much leisure time to check email for the next week as there are 20 computers at oxford for more than 150 people, all of whom have papers due in the first week.

I'm sure you will find a way to fit those extra suitcases (after all, it is a bus full of engineers). I want to take the Eurostar chunnel train, you will have to tell us all about it when you get the chance. And good luck writing your paper!

If you need some hardware to enable you to get the laptop working, please let us know...the Shoemakers are traveling to London on 1 Jul and will visit Katie...so if you are really nice, and we can figure out what you need, maybe the Shoemakers will be able to bring you the hardware...or we can always mail it...
