Journal after5's Journal: Making music 3

Okay, it must be said, I miss my guitar.

Not that family and friends aren't up on the list, but I really do miss that guitar. A fellow player and I have just been wanting to play the whole trip. And what few stores there are are often closed or won't let us touch the instruments! How do they expect to sell instruments?

So Anit and I are contemplating hitting some pawn shops in Oxford and buying some cheap guitars. Although that does seem a bit excessive, how can you put a price on a momento of europe? Some kids just blew 150 dollars on three bottles of wine last night in a jazz club. Those same bottles sell in the grocery store for about 3 dollars a piece! I checked this morning. I'm thinking 50 - 75 dollars for a guitar wouldn't be too excessive.

Anyway, it's just an idea, feel free to poke holes in my dreams as necessary.

  • Feel free to buy whatever you want. Especially if it is for me or Lisa. But just remember, whatever you buy, you have to lug around. Have fun, miss you, love you bunches. Snoochie boochies!
    • Jason, We are pleased as can be that you are thoroughly enjoying your travels, and we thoroughly enjoy your travel logs....By the way, I just checked the debit card and discovered it had $0.90 left...so I have accomplished the Papa do list and deposited additional funds for your spending enjoyment..... The guitar sounds like a great idea..I am sure it will help you focus on your analytical abilities at your "Reading at Oxford".....the "Brit" guitar shouldn't cost anymore than the "Tijuana Special" we bought for you when you were "two old"...just kidding, look around and see what you can find...maybe an old Beatle or Rolling Stone hand-me-down?!?!?!?!? The Mom says she loves you, misses you, and wants you back home.....home made tortilla's are waiting for your epicurial evaluation... And I miss my daily margarita; especially with our late night tennis matches.....but we will survive as long as we know you are enjoying yourself.... We definitely second your opinion of Italy...we want to go back and see the other sites as well. Ahhhh, the pasta, the olive oil with the breads, the homemade vino, the piazza cafes, the Gelato, the vino, the pasta, the....am I repeating myself??? Oh yeah, and the Roman ruins..... We love you bunches and more, enjoy... Love, The Mommie and the Papa

rolling stones and beatles guitars, huh? maybe i'll raise my standards a bit. although i definitely would like a picture of me walking across abbey road with a guitar case in hand. :)

the tortillas are definitely missed, home never felt so far away.

        love you all!
