Journal after5's Journal: Dirty, Dirty Leeds 1

I should have known, the dirty, dirty city of Leeds would rear it's ugly head and ruin my meager existence.

What happened you may ask? Oh, I'll tell you what happened.

MY GUITAR BROKE!

Yes, that's right, my "Handcrafted by Leeds Luthier students" guitar is coming apart. I was reading my Medieval England texts and I hear a "creak...creak" coming from my guitar, complete with a hint of metal "twang" as the strings sounded as if they were being hit.

The part of the guitar that holds the string in place beneath the soundhole was coming apart from the guitar.

The tension in the strings was literally pulling the bridge and saddle away from the surface of the guitar.

Tomorrow I'm heading to the music store to give them a solid piece of my mind about the guitar, that up until now was behaving perfectly.

My secret suspicion is that the massive weather change we've just had (60s Wet -> 60s dry -> Hot -> Hot/Humid) completely tore through the glue that they used in construction.

I didn't even remove the plastic pick guard cover yet, so maybe I might be able to get it replaced, if not, ooh buddy, there's going to be a really pissed off Boylan for the next couple of weeks. With final exams coming up this Friday/Saturday I definitely did not need this sort of issue developing.

So to summarize, all I can say is:

Dirty, Dirty Leeds!

  • My poor baby brother! How dare those imbecils from Leeds try to screw you over?! I would definitely give them a piece of your mind. I would say give them a piece of my mind too, but since I need what little I have, I don't think that would be such a good idea. ;) Hopefully you get everything worked out. By the way, when you get home, you will have lots of work to do. Not only do you have to work for Mr. Beeston during the day, but your sisters require your services as well. Muuuuwaaaahhhh, love ya, Sister.

To err is human, to moo bovine.

Working...
