Journal after5's Journal: Live and in Dublin 4

well, we made it to dublin. So here I am.

Could a rocket scientist out there, somewhere, please explain to this ECE major why someone can use a laptop on an aircraft but CD players are not allowed? Next time I fly I'm bringing a faraday cage.

Sometimes I hate rules. Especially silly ones.

Dublin is okay. Definitely happy that we are hiring a car tomorrow. And as it turns out, we're getting a larger car, and it is coming out
eur10 cheaper! How is this you ask? Well, we have two stowaways. We ran into two girls from the GT-Oxford program and they are going to accompany us on our road trip across Ireland. The tentative plan is to leave dublin tomorrow morning and head to Limerick, drive along the shannon bay area, then end up in Dingle. Because we are told that Dingle is an amazing locale. When we head back we'll hopefully drive way out of the way and hit the cliffs of moher.

I'll tell you more when we get back to Oxford. Not too many picture taking going on, the weather has been terrible and not exactly conducive to picture taking.

Took a bus tour, saw the city, went to the Guinness Storehouse. Basically one giant advert for guinness ala the World of Coke in Atlanta. They do give you a "free" pint at the end. (after you have, of course, paid the 8 eur entrance fee) I bought a t-shirt.

I'll leave the rest for a future story, hope everyone is doing well out there.

  • Great job....not only can you get a larger car, you can get more to pay for the price, ergo, its cheaper all the way around....boy, did someone say you were my son?!?!?!?! Enjoy the drive, and Dingle is supposed to be a great place to visit...they say the best place to meet the locals and get the real stories of Ireland are in the small town pubs (really town eating locations and social gatherings).... Enjoy and be careful with the driving...yep, just like a papa to remind the son of being careful... Love and Hugs, The Papa
  • Hooray for fine Irish Lager
  • yeah...so maybe laptops are shielded or something...or it wasn't in the book..but the general idea is to keep the planes in the air and out of the ocean... http://www.howstuffworks.com/framed.htm?parent=que stion230.htm&url=http://cryptome.org/twa800-emi.ht m
