No I don’t think those are even remotely the same. I do think it’s reasonable to investigate given the association in criminal culture and context who and what position they held. You kinda can’t claim the meaning isn’t part of culture when that’s the exact meaning in pop culture, music and movies. Mental gymnastics here would be ignoring that. Given the degree of power held by the person in question and the prevailing culture of assassination that’s propped up it would be unreasonable to not investigate even if thin or obviously meant to incite. I shouldn’t need to explain this on a place like slash dot. There are a handful of companies engaged in the activity. This company is the odd one out by refusing to work with government no conspiracy needed.

Export controls are needed for companies operating under nuclear weapon level of consequences for society that are not willing to work with government not oppression , that’s regulation..

They are front runners in technology similar to nuclear weapons that refuse military oversight, even indirect throught cooperation. many feel one can’t have a company like that operate freely outside of ones own borders..
