Comment main author a crackpot? (Score 1) 347

Half the references are to papers coauthored by E del Giudice, himself a coauthor of the paper. Here is one of his works: http://www.isi.it/progetti/workshop-complexity09/pres_DelGiudice.pdf, looks very much like the work of a crackpot. An he often is a coauthor of M Fleischmann of cold fusion fame. Also I do have some training in QED, but what those guys are writing looks like junk to me, and particular it looks much different to typical QED computations. Heaps of fancy words without meaning in between. How they got Montagnier to coauthor the paper escapes me.

Isn't that strange? I'm a business user (have my own company for about 15 years now), I have been using Mail for at least 23 years, longer than most oft PHBs have heard of the concept. Nevertheless, I have no use for all the concepts the article thinks are so incredibly important. Flags? Why not just answer emails and archive/delete them? Junk Filter? Doesn't your server do most of the work? Rules? To automatically archive messages you'll never read? Why not just unsubscribe from all those mailing lists? Some people forget that new tools often mean that old process are no longer meaningful, and that the tools needed to support those old processes are obsolete. So the troll who posted the article should try to get in sync with the present in order not to become obsolete himself.

Comment Call Customer Support (Score 1) 567

Everyone owning a D-Link product should call the vendor's support hotline (preferably a toll free number) to inquire whether the device you own is one of those NTP vandalising products. That would certainly make the vendor think twice about carrying D-Link products in the future. Or call D-Link directly to find out. That would show D-Link directly what cost they cause others by their incompetence.
