Jani Pirkola writes to tell us that Green Phosphor's new project "Glasshouse" allows users to take database queries or spreadsheets and create 3D representations in a virtual world. Man what I wouldn't give to mash my level 80 death knight up with some of the ugly joins I have run across in the past. "Users can see data, and drill into it; re-sort it; explore it interactively - all from within a virtual world. Glasshouse produces graphs which are avatars of the data itself. We've tailored the system for the use of biotech companies, specifically for drug discovery and development. Dr. David Resuehr, a molecular biologist, recently joined Green Phosphor as our Chief Scientist."

New Futurama Movie Coming in June 126

walterbyrd writes "Bender's Big Score is just getting set to air on Comedy Central, but already Fox has announced that the next straight-to-DVD Futurama film/series is coming in June. The title? 'The Beast with a Billion Backs.' 'In what Fox is calling the most tentacle-packed Futurama epic, space itself rips open, revealing a gateway to another universe. What lies beyond is a mix of horror and love as the Planet Express crew encounters a repulsive, planet-sized monster with romantic intentions. The second feature-length Futurama film will be followed by at least two more movies from series creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen. The show's entire voice cast and most of its main writers have returned to help revive the series, which FOX cancelled in 2003.'"

You're the one making silly claims of an invisible sky-daddy who doles out arbitrary rewards and punishments based on his own random whims that you try to interpret by reading book authored (and reauthored) over the span of several millenia. I'd have to say that the burden of proof is on your shoulders.

Since we're name-calling now regarding the burden of proof... You are the one who is assuming that a special strain of western empiricism that has come into popularity over the last 300 years is normative for all of human society and an unquestionable description of reality. You are simply privileging a single epistemological theory over another. Go back to undergrad.
