You can find one online for under $200. It comes with a version of Ubuntu Linux, FBReader and Evince are in the standard install. The Mer Project over at Maemo.org is currently porting Maemo to the device, they have a thread here http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=27433, discussing ports for the Smart Q5 and Q7.

Yep you can get Microsoft Home Server 2008 for about $150 on NewEgg, so it isn't expensive. I personally use XP Pro 64 bit and wish I'd known about this solution.
