Comment Other methods (Score 1) 553

Is it time to explore other methods as well? Require fingerprint reader, retinal scanner, a few security questions about your mother's maiden name and your favorite childhood pet, a couple complex math problems, and then insert your driver's license as well as your tongue into a USB device(patent pending)...lets really make sure its you.

Comment Only around 5.5% (Score 1) 268

We can only listen to Pandora online music for free for close to 5.5% of a month. If you factor out sleeping (assuming most techies get 6 hours) we can get close to 7.5% of our month in free music! Can't wait till February rolls around and we can get close to 8% of our month!! Who really cares about paying a dollar for music, thanks Pandora for not ripping us off like itunes.

Comment Sega (Score 1) 92

I'd see rather Sega focusing more on the gameplay rather than just trying to experiment with the M-rated audiences. Isn't targeting a "general" audience more important than an exclusive one? Granted, some M-rated gamers can't be drawn in by the general audience game, but The Conduit by Sega just came out for the Wii and its T-rated. It's pretty mild, but still some fun to mess in both story mode and online multiplayer. Just work on making a good FPS and I'm sure people will buy it.

LKML Summary Podcast 41

Jon Masters writes "I've started recording a daily summary podcast of Linux Kernel Mailing List (LKML) traffic. It's in MP3 format (for the benefit of car stereos, including my empeg, and iPhone/iPod users) with an Ogg Vorbis format version to follow next week, and text versions of the script I read from will be available too for those who want to help with translation — or just prefer not listening to audio. It's an experiment at this stage and may not continue to be daily in the longer term unless I can build a team of willing volunteers to help find items worth including from the day's traffic, write the daily script, record it, and so forth. But it's proving to be a useful exercise in forcing myself to be up to date with LKML. I've had around 5,000 downloads in a first several days, and a lot of positive feedback, so I think this is filling a void and may prove to be useful. If you'd like to help get involved drop me a line at kernel-podcast@jonmasters.org, or tweet @kernelpodcast."
