Incidentally, last time I looked into it, it seemed like the most advanced phage therapy was happening in the former Soviet state of Georgia. Not sure if that is still the case.
I remember having seen a BBC Horizon documentary on scientists in the republic of Georgia using bacteriaphages to fight drug resistant viral infections. Just tried to look it up. It seems that episode is on Youtube: Antibiotic Resistance - The Virus that Cures - BBC Horizon.
Amazed that documentary is already 27 years old.
