There is *no way* to turn off recommendations. If you order a list chronologically versus alphabetically, that *is* a recommendation (one of the lawyers made that argument). There is simply no way to display data without some form of sort - even if you select to randomize the list, that is still a developer-designed selection.
I guess we are heading to a future where privacy will be available to the rich or technically literate.
That's where we are. You want easy, use Gmail (Hotmail, Yahoo, whatever). You want privacy, run your own mail server, and good luck getting past filters.
Why should TVs be any different?
Pi-hole is a good, "not too technical" solution for most people's televisions, in my opinion.
They don't understand the dynamics of the car and get confused in a panic. Computers don't have this problem.
