I was thinking the same thing. Mostly it's feature phones that get smuggled into prison, and many prisons have cell signal jammers, but TV? OTOH, I lived outside the US for one year 1989-90 and when I came back these weird yellow people were plastered on everything and everyone was saying "Don't have a cow, man" and it felt like I'd jumped into a different universe. It's amazing and scary how ubiquitous smartphones became in 10 years (or as my husband says, how it only took 10 years for them to ruin society), I do think we almost need an industry of people whose job it is to help the non-technical function well. From guys like this to the old people being scammed out of thousands by online/phone scammers, to just doing life admin, if you don't have amazing digital acumen and robust wi-fi, you are shit out of luck.

It would be nice if the US adopted bidets, but until that happens I think Fohm is a good alternative to wipes. I've been using it for a few months and it works...it's maybe not quite as easy, but I have much less guilt. Plus supporting a startup! "Flushable" is the same as "Recyclable 5" labels on styrofoam, etc. There's no law against saying your product can be recycled, or even using the standard imprint, even if it's not recyclable.

I would rather have a candidate who understands the rules and guidelines for social behavior. There is a reason we have a social code. Our ability to behave in a proper manner based on the environment is crucial to working as a civilization. Pick any leader of another country (even Putin, who seems to like Trump). Do you think that leader will respond well to being called a pussy by POTUS on Twitter? Do you think we will get anything done globally (except lose all our standing, foreign military bases, and alliances) when our President bullies, insults, and threatens, and prompts thousands of America's Least Polished to make online personal attacks against them? In short, there IS a difference in calling someone a pussy when you are talking politics with your buddies at the bar, and when you are on national TV in a job interview to be that person's highest representative. If you do the second, it indicates that you are a sociopath who cannot function in any civilized cultural setting.
