FSD on a regular basis since about August takes me to and from work 16 miles each way, 10 country and 6 city (0 highway). Several times a week with no interventions, without me touching the steering other than letting it no I am there or touching a pedal from the parking lot exit to the bottom of my driveway. I have never been an over the road drive but when I was younger I drove yard trucks and blind side backed into several docks. Sitting in the center would be just fine. In fact I would prefer the screens and sensors and 16 cameras over trying to judge from my mirror or hanging my head out the window. Sure it would take getting used... Also never having to stop at a break check point on a 6% down grade and worrying about a runaway ramp because my brakes will be cold at the bottom and having all the power in the world to pass up hill fully loaded and not cause traffic jams on grades... No I didn't drink the flav-o-rade but you obviously drank the hator-ade. Was that you in the pong demo for the implants? That might explain a few things.

The low-end Tesla is not that much more than a Camry when you factor in maintenance. Maybe 1.25 to 1.5 times the price, but worth it as well. The average driver only takes a couple of vacations a year. The other 50 weeks you never have to step foot in a gas station. Combustion Vehicle is 5x more likely to burst into flames than a Tesla. Their have been very few Tesla's catch fire, THOUSANDS of combustion vehicles catch fire every year. Ford just recalled over 600k cars due to fire risks from fuel leaks. You are mistaking Tesla for GM's faulty Bolt packs... Seats are some of the most comfortable on the market and it has less cabin noise than a highend Lexus. Safest car on the road in crash tests and collision avoidance.... Average car has an accident every 600k miles driven. Average Tesla accident is every 6.1 million miles driven according to latest NHSTA statistics.

Tesla is not an automaker stock... This is so wrong on so many levels and the perception that many have. Tesla's main value generating revenue is currently from auto but it also has 8x the margins as the next closest auto company and can justify higher prices based off the P/E. Lathrop Megapack factory came online in late November/December and is ramping to 40gw or more with basically no competitors in this market and unlimited demand for several years. They will likely grow profits here from a few 100 million to over 12 billion next year and it will rapidly catch there auto business. Though if they announce new factories and continue to ramp it could take a couple of years. I think most analyst are missing the mark on Lathrop and sales will not be off as far as anticipated. They will hit or exceed original Q4 estimates and will likely crush it in Q1 or Q2 of 23' with Megapack sales. Battery Cathode plant and Panasonic partnerships puts them in a HUGE battery and storage market. Not to mention solar is currently a small portion of there business but also has huge room for growth. Tesla is generating revenue off of both software sales and insurance which other auto's do not and this will grow substantially over the next two years as FSD moves to subscription and they reach higher market saturation. This is recurring revenue as well that goes beyond the initial sale. Something other auto companies do not have. While they are only at 2m year production they are currently easily selling those and come January they will get a 7500 break. In addition to having the room to drop their 30% margins to 20% and make them even more affordable if they choose. I suspect that inflation pressure and supply chain has stabilized and they have room to cut price and maintain margin a bit as well. 4680 packs are ramping currently at 1k per week and cathode plant is online as well as new assembly lines ramping. With the 4680 structural packs and front casting they will have even more cost reduction and room to adjust pricing or make more money. I will not get to far into Optimus as it is still in early development, but once FSD tech is perfected it works with Optimus vision system and we already have solid AI like ChatGPT that can be forked and developed if it isn't licensed or allowed as an API. Endless possibilities here but this could be the largest portion of there business. DOJO and FSD also have growth potential here as well as AI and Software for cars and other markets. If FSD gets so far ahead will other manufacturers start licensing from Tesla..... Semi is ramping which while technically considered "auto", this is an additional avenue that many auto manufacturers do not have and they will quickly corner the market with improvements to the already impressive specifications that exceeded all estimates and most thought were not possible.

Just another ploy to hinder progress in the US and get in Elon's way so he can line his own pocket. No secret he can't stand Space-X, Tesla or Elon. The man could care less about this country or the environment. After all he would rather get his kickbacks from GM and the Unions than to assist in any way to advancing real or EV, Space or environmental progress for that matter. Biggest piece of excrement this country has ever elected, which considering some of the characters in the last administration says a lot.

This is just further proof that Biden is a buffoon and absolute joke of a President that cares nothing about the US other than lining his own pockets. The country went from a mediocre/bad egomaniac President that at least had some economic policy and common sense. One that was willing to work with Elon and others on policy to a complete moron that has no merits. This was clearly appeasing his base with blinders on while taking payouts from Big Auto and Oil. Sad thing is he wont be around in 9 years to see it to fruition therefore he is just blowing smoke. What will force this is Tesla making cars cheaper and cheaper to produce, as they get more efficient and cost effective prices will drop (despite the recent inflation and shortage based increases). If Legacy auto is only making 50% hybrids by 2030 they will be bankrupt and Tesla and the manufacturers that do innovate will have 90%+ market share.

All tech advancements are a good thing regardless of where they come from. The biggest advantage will be if this can greatly reduce the cost to produce a battery pack which lithium is a very small part of. There is definitely a market/price option for short range commuters. If this could produce a much cheaper 200 mi range pack it would be well worth it.
