How to Become Invisible 336

mdm42 writes "Looks like a theoretical physicist at St. Andrews University in Scotland believes that invisibility may be possible. And its not going to be a potion or a cloak, but will come in the form of a device. " Let's just hope that when the invisible woman arrives, she's played more convincingly than Jessica Alba.

Paint-on Antennas for Mile-High Airships 77

Bravoc writes to tell us RTI International is reporting that a group of researchers are testing a "paint-on antenna" for high-altitude airships. Update: 07/02 05:00 GMT by Z : I said launch not lauch. Fixed headline.

Microsoft Workers Prefer Google 378

dhollist writes "A story just released by the Inquirer shows that 80% of incoming search requests from Microsoft's domain arrived via Google's search engine. In contrast, 64% of Yahoo! staff and 100% of Google staff use their own company's search engine. How's that for a product endorsement? I'd guess that Microsoft may soon add google.com to the list of blocked URL's on their intranet."

You're right - I just went to read the original article at famitsu, and the article is referring to the possibility of selling new games at 500 yen or 1000 yen with lowered production and sales costs as compared to putting in extra amounts of production time just so a company can sell a game for 5800 yen.

This is quite interesting, it could actually allow homebrew game publishing.
