I agree. Except recently. With ads talking at me, without the clear option to mute them, I've started hating certain gas stations. Walmart's one of them.

Sympathizing with Blizzard for a sec (ducks), they want to validate ownership, but this -constant- connection thing is a beast to uphold. Why not have an offline mode with validation checks every, say, 15 mins? As opposed to the several packet exchanges every second, this would require minuscule bandwidth.

I asked, is that respectful to the engineers who studied and worked for decades for that title? What if the domestic engineer/housewife does a really bad job in their role?

Eventually it turned into a history of euphemisms, where it referenced the "C-word" for Chinese and the "G-word" for Jewish people. I asked what those actually meant (I'm honestly not sure), and it wouldn't tell me. So I asked, how will I identify it if I never know? Isn't that akin to book burning? I'm trying to educate myself. And no matter what I said, it wouldn't tell me what those forbidden words were.
