The reason why police can do a simple search of a detained person, and look inside containers, is to ensure the safety of the officer. I just use Daylight Saving Time all the time. I'm fine with everyone else being wrong, as long as it gets dark at 5:30 on the shortest day of the year instead of 4:30. Dark at 8am? So what, 8am sucks anyway. Worried about school kids? Set their schedule so they have an 8 hour day that always has daylight in whatever region you are in.
