It isn't just that... it is that Facebook users get the whiny "pay us" speech from EVERYONE on the site. Sure, RoE is a good game, and currently I play it every day... and if it were a $50 flat fee like I could pay for a basic absorbing play over-and-over computer game, I might even pay it, despite the spelling errors and occasional thoughtless design aspects... but a monthly fee is where I draw the line. If I want to pay a monthly fee, I'll spend my money on something much more engaging, and where I am not risking everything I have worked for each day that I play. A war just started and my 44 villages could be gone by tomorrow. It is just another Facebook game, and you have to know when you start developing what your user base is. Truthfully, most people get burnt out on the game and leave. Almost none of the friends I started with are still playing... there are a lot of other issues involved here than "is is worth it to develop" ... and a lot more choices that could be made. Instead of whining about your audience, get to know them... I am *certain* that will be more productive.
