Comment Dead, but not counted. (Score 1) 118

Two days ago, a family member, aged 68, multiple co-morbidities, went to the hospital seeking treatment for a fever, dry cough and pneumonia in a rural county in the United States with no reported cases in a state with (still) no reported deaths. He was sent home but returned a few hours later with extreme difficulty breathing and died of heart failure during intubation. His test results should be back tomorrow, but it's hard to not to assume. I wonder if his death will be reported as an official fatality or if they'll chalk it up to one of his co-morbidities. His partner hasn't been tested or quarantined, instead visiting the funeral home, making arrangements, and consoling with family members.
