You don't get it. I don't blame you. Opus 4.6 is a huge advance that I still can't comprehend. Opus 4.6 is effortlessly in minutes writing code that I would never put time and effort into. I can experiment with algorithms and data layouts like never before--that were never practical before. It still takes knowledge to direct it, but far less effort. It's not perfect, but it's a LOT more accurate and builds test blocks and runs tests and edits its code all on its own. Prompts do not have to be carefully crafted anymore. I used to be like you--like everyone else here I believe--but the world changed on Feb. 5th.

Sorry to disappoint. I'm a real person, and I code for a living. I strongly suggest you read this opinion piece, which largely mirrors my experience the past 2 weeks. (It's overly long but you'll get the point not too far in.) If you've not tried Opus 4.6, you have no idea what just happened. (I've not tried Codex yet.)

$20/month for Opus 4.6. If you don't code, though, don't bother. If you do code, then you haven't tried it and are completely ignorant. I was like you but everything changed on 2/5.

You haven't tried Opus 4.6, released on Feb. 5th. Prompts for writing code can be casual and brief.... and it will still respond with code that addresses many/most/all of the concerns you had but couldn't be bothered to formulate in writing. Be sure to challenge it with a problem you'd hate to tackle.

Reads like a shill because you can't imagine AI has improved that much overnight. You should try Opus 4.6. It's mind-blowing. Shumer's description pretty much matches my experience.
