\It's all about APIs and engine support. You should know just as well as anyone that if you're making a piece of software you try to target as many potential users as possible with the resources you have on hand. WINE developers, its various forks (i c u crossover), including Proton, have taken the opinion that companies will never take Linux (or mac lol) gamers seriously, so we may as well implement the apis that they're all targetting in Linux so it's not a problem anymore. It's literally what StarOffice/OpenOffice/LibreOffice did in order to gain traction for people stuck in the Microsoft ecosystem, but who would otherwise use linux. It gives them a choice. No one shits on LibreOffice users because they're not TRUE LINUX SPREADSHEET USERS. Setting a bar for REAL LINUX GAMERS to have companies choose engines that can target apis implemented in linux that will do the work to get the "last mile" laid is ridiculous when passionate and skilled programmers, both within companies and outside, have already solved the issue. If that work is good enough for intel to use within their own drivers for pre-dx11 games for their Arc cards it should be "good enough"
