Senior Management won't listen to IT people unless they are told the Value of what you're about to tell, and the Risk of ignoring it. The more you can relate to the moneymaking process, the better. Keep the more technical stuffs brief, and if possible liken them to the business process they understand. Other important thing I learned, never make Senior Management looked stupid, no matter how clueless they are, especially in the company of their peers. Good Luck!
