I had not considered these industries. Got my mind going. Thanks. :)

I would still argue the cross section of people under discussion is very small.

They...

a - Need to be considered worthy of the investment. Years of Service, Skills in field. Etc.

b - Are capable of being trained (they're good!)

c - Are complete back-stabbing weasels and this fact has been missed in all their years interaction

I won't disagree such people exist. I just think they are so few in number as to not effect 'most' training budgets.

I'm curious....

What possible training falls into this Category?

Something mundane like an AWS Cert, or some Python courses cost little. Not are they in anyway trade secrets.

Something more exotic, starts to put the employee in such a position that the Company should be doing everything in its power to retain such a person, as they would seem to be rare gems. Not only almost unfindable, but in such a case, are unlikely to jump ship.

But I am interested in what such a training might be

Seriously?

This man has been one of the worst Presidents on record. He was handed a shining economy. Most of the Gov was running fine. In his bucket, he started a confrontation with China, which was needed.

But then Corona hit. And he FUCKING FAILED. Zero leadership. Absolute denial.

And here we are (In the USA) breaking records we'd prefer not to break.

"People DO NOT BEHAVE in absence of police"

I abhor this idea. As a society, this statement should not be true. People should mostly self-police. Don't rob, don't murder, etc.

So why does anyone commit crimes?

Our society is inequitable and unjust. And people are starting to get really pissed.

It seems odd we can design and engineer devices which fly to space, but we cannot even talk rationally about how we can solve these societal issues.

I'd venture to guess they actually have decided to do nothing because they won't have to live with the consequences of said decision. They'll be dead (of old age).
