Video games don't inspire violence!

  • The trick is to go with geek for the really creepy-looking ones. What kind of freak spends his time developing computer programming languages? We all get the urge to go a little crazy with a shotgun in Walmart, don't we? That's not just me, is it?

I personally think that getting on a high building with a sniper has more class, but that's just me. I have seen this thing in another journal before, I just don't remember who posted it.

      • It does have more class, but

        1) I live within sight of the infamous sniper^H^H^H^H^H^H bell tower at UT Austin, so it's kind of passe.

        2) Wiping out a Walmart channels those feelings of aggression in a constructive way.

        • Sniping is never passe, and if you're really good and only do headshots you're gonna have a heck of a lot of fun.

It was claudia's journal [slashdot.org] by the way.

Since we don't have Wallmarts here (there are some in Germany, as far as I know), I wouldn't know what you mean.

          • It's great to hear that there are still places without Walmarts in the world. They are not yet as pervasive as McDonald's. Where, if you don't mind my asking, are you?

I'm trying to think of how best to describe Walmart to someone who has been spared the Walmart experience... Walmart is a huge discount store which sells nearly every product imaginable at very steep discounts. They destroy local businesses wherever they go, and even other large discount stores in many places. Think of them as the Borg

            • These stores are often (this part is almost pure elitist stereotyping, so don't take it too seriously) filled with stupid, ignorant people with no class.

Amongst the same grouping as Target, as well.

Why aren't there any Walmarts in Iraq?

Because there's a Target on every block.
            • I live in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. I personally only have seen a Wallmart when I was over in Florida. Looked like a normal supermarket to me. But I believ you on the destroying of smaller businesses. Supermarkets tend to do that.

I would not put my hand in the fire for saying there are no Wallmarts in Europe apart from Germany, because I don't know. I personally have not yet seen one near me. I only know of the german Wallmarts because I saw commercials on German TV.

And as far as McDonalds go

  • I suck.

You need to preview to get a one line sentence in, or slashdot thinks you are trying to get a first post.

    WTF ever.
  • kick ass
  • Some of those people just gave me the creeps.
