Xbm360 writes: "A report from researcher Canalys said 13.5 million netbooks were sold globally in the 1st half of 2009. Telecom companies have several bundling deals, with about 50 operators selling netbooks. The succes of Netbooks also surprised Microsoft & forced them to lower the prices of their XP Home licenses, to regain marketshare over Linux."

Xbm360 writes: "According to data collected by Joystiq as well as Google Trends, there's been a steady rise in reports & discussion of a so-called E74 error at Xbox 360 consoles since mid-October, last year.

The E74 error is related to video problems caused by either a faulty AV connector or, a loosened ANA/HANA scaling chip (more often).

Jack Evans, a Microsoft spokesman, stated about these complaints; "Out of the millions of Xbox consoles in use, Microsoft has not received any widespread reports of Xbox 360s scratching discs""
