Sounds like some people with a political agenda want control of the largest social network on the planet. Sounds like a bad idea to me. While Mark may lean left, at least he is driven by the dollar and has at least publicly expressed his interest in keeping facebook as a site independent.

My wife worked as a staffer for a couple of years in early 2k and this is nothing new, every politician, and political organization does this on both sides of the party.

I worked for an organization that did cancer research on mice and other small animals. The animals were always treated with respect and had some of the best living quarters an animal could ask for. While trying to find cures for cancer in humans from time to time they would find treatments for animals as well. I can specifically recall one drug that was discovered to treat a very debilitating form of cancer in dogs that up until that point had very little effective treatment. On a side note most medium to large research institutes have training on how to be on the watch for members of PETA, ALF, etc. and they take the training extremely serious.

Some of you guys and gals are being way to rough on this man. He obviously cares about his wife and kid enough to risk asking his question here, but damn, give this guy a break. While the panic button may not be a great idea at least he is thinking about solutions for what is a tough situation. I appreciate those of you who have offered suggestions of a wearable for his wife, a service dog and additionally a panic button for his child.
