It is impossible for Microsoft to beat Linux on ANY level. The LinuxOS is a cheap and reliable peice of software. Where the WindowsOS is the exact opposit. In order for Microsoft to beat Linux, they have to produce a product that works. I haven't seen any evidence to suggest they can even come close to the reliability of Linux!
