Some of this information is a bit inaccurate. First, the "unlimited data plan" he refers to is not Verizon's unlimited data plan. It is their basic data plan. And it is capped at 5GB has he stated. Verizon also has a truly unlimited data plan for $44.99 Then there is the claim: "and if you plan on connecting with an Microsoft Exchange email account you have to pay another $15 a month." Which is just flat out false. I can tell you that I am using the exchange integration right now, and I only have the $30 data plan and nothing more. Just as a side topic here, if you root your phone there are free open source tethering applications out there anyway. But I would point out that Verizon charges $2.99 for visual voice mail. Which is cheap of them IMO...

I think the argument for killing these sort of projects in order to protect your IP has long been dis-proven. Valve is the most potent example, their engine is used for mods, their own IP is used to make high quality videos, and much more. They don't only allow this, but embrace it and foster it. And it has made them one of the most important and successful gaming companies out there. How about the Mega Man "Mega Ran" remix? That was embraced and both parties benefited. Should Square allow people to use their IP willy-nilly? No. But they could embrace it, and control it to some extent. Foster a community around their IP. A response as drastic as this is just bad PR over an issue that was in no way going to deprive them of sales nor allow others to profit from their IP and tech. Bad move Square, get with the times.

The last leap second occurred Dec 31, 2005; they are added due to fluctuations in the rotational speed of the earth. You can read all about leap seconds on Wikipedia."
