Try NSDAP 2.0.
It has a philosophy of creating Lebensraum for its preferred ethnicity.
It uses both conquest and ethnic cleansing to do this.
It operates concentration camps.
It harvests the hair and organs of untermenchen to enrich the fatherland.
It has an on-paper socialist economy but in reality allows chosen cronies to act freely and rapaciously.
It is trying to fuck Russia over a barrel.
It tries to forge ties with central and south american countries as a safety net / launchpad for attacks against the USA.
Bonuses that v 1.0 never got around to:
It uses a system of loan sharking to create land and resource grabs.
It has embarked on neo-colonialism in Africa.
There's no one pushing war with China. What Trump is pushing for is disengagement. Bringing manufacturing back. Stopping the industrial espionage and theft of US technology. Ending the unfair trade practices. Stop being reliant on a authoritarian regime for many of out basic needs such as medical supplies.
From the CCP perspective, those actions are acts of war and aggression. We would be threatening to cut the legs out from under their illusion of "infinite growth forever" that their entire economy is based on. It could be seen as an existential threat to the party if they ever let that train crash, and perhaps they will do literally anything to stop it. Including nuclear war. Maybe that's why there was such bipartisan support for TPP and why both establishments hated Sanders and Trump so much respectively. Maybe they all secretly feared that trashing TPP and standing up for ourselves again would make our new overlords angry enough to throw rocks, among other things.
Nixon and Kissinger started the current relationship with China. The theory was if we normalize trade with them, it would bring them in to the international fold and their government would follow to more Democratic.
These days I wonder if that really ever was the theory, or if they knew all along that there were good odds of things turning out the way they have, and they were counting on not being around to suffer the fallout.
Wrong tack.
Remember how the problems with the Mujaheddin were USA's blowback for its behavior in Afghanistan?
CCP's rise to power and totalitarianism is our blowback for enabling them with money and market power, that was used to cut the legs out from under laborers demanding a fair wage. There's nothing phony about governments wanting ultimate surveillance and behavior modification.
As for the US media, hollywood and sports teams are too busy selling themselves out to the CCP right now to bother making 80s style cold war films. Meanwhile the opinion pieces are laden with anti-Trump, anti-America, "we're going to lose" fatalism.
What reason do you have to believe Biden will do anything to China besides apologize profusely for Orange Man's behavior, and then quickly pass an even worse TPP bill? He and the neoliberals and neoconservatives have spent decades selling out our entire country's manufacturing capability and innovation to the CCP, and there isn't any reason to think he'll change course. They all seem determined to let China become the new superpower, and their buddies in Hollywood are happy to write the propaganda films for them.
Why would you even want a president Biden to send troops into Russia when Russia is on the knife edge of joining forces with the rest of the world *against* the CCP? Xi has been fabricating claims to Russian territory lately and trying to press them. This is after Xi bent Putin over and fucked him with the oil pipeline that didn't turn out the way the Russians had hoped at all. China maybe has Pakistan and whoever is ruling NK now that Kim is probably dead on his side. And who else? Maybe Germany will try to drag the EU to China's defense since they still play the "One China" game, and apparently after all these years still want to join forces with the side that has literal concentration camps and a philosophy of Lebensraum. The German leadership were never were good at picking sides, I suppose.
It would be kind of funny in a sad sort of way if Russia *yet again* for the second world war in a row were a main antagonist against a fascist, nationalist and socialist juggernaut bent on world domination, biting at them from the opposite side as the liberal democracies.
After this past week's anti-trust hearing, Apple might soon becomes the 5 most valuable companies in the world
I agree. Then our companies can stop playing along with crazy link taxes and the ridiculous speech restriction laws that the Old World can't outgrow.
It would be mutually beneficial and we could all operate in spaces more amenable to our sensibilities.
It reads like a snarky quip, but this is honestly a good and logical response. However, unless Microsoft is provably more innocent than them I don't think there's an argument that they are a responsible choice to encourage such a deal.
One could however, suppose that MS is more likely to be a good choice given that the CCP is in the process of purging itself of Windows OS in favor of a CCP-made Linux. This would also officially put Redmond on the to-nuke list since the CCP wouldn't be nuking their OS vendor.
Do you also remember in college, all the hippie girls with the Free Tibet bumper stickers?
How many do you suppose now have corporate jobs at companies who deal with Tencent or AliBaba, and have traded them for Fuck Tibet bumper stickers?
Between the two of them, in 2020, I can only think of one that does all of the following:
- Creates concentration camps for ethnic minorities
- Institutes an ethnic cleansing campaign to make Lebensraum for its favored ethnicity at the expense of untermenchen
- Maintains a policy of dredging up centuries old claims to land and uses them as excuses to justify military conflict, so as to obtain more lebensraum
- Originates predatory loans for developing nations that end in land grabs and resource extraction
- An ostensibly "socialist" economic system with a "nationalist" focus and that gives free reign to certain cronies as long as it is understood that in the end they answer to the state.
For everything Microsoft has done objectionable in its history, it is not actively trying to model itself after literally Nazi Germany.
